Sunday Morning

Why waste a perfectly good morning in bed when I could  be exploring the place?
Always the case in a foreign land, isn't it?

This morning saw me silently shutting the vault-like main door on my three housemates before embarking on a solo cafe hunt. (At this point, I must say that Google Maps is about the best thing when travelling. Any directional guide I need can be found there.) So I wandered down the usual path to the main road and instead of walking straight down towards Tsinghua, I took a left and found myself at the foot of a quaint three storey cafe - Bridge Cafe. As I hit the landing, I knew this was somewhere I'd be returning to in the next few weeks. Wooden tables, sofas, soft lighting, jazz music in the background and people in their own worlds. In between forkfuls of blueberry muffin and scoops of honeyed granola with yoghurt, there I was, curled up on one of their sofas, journal in my lap, writing away in a blissful bubble of Languid until the three sleeping gods in the house rose from their slumber.

By then, it was time for lunch.
