Yesterday was a day spent travelling along majority of the green long - Jurong to Aljunied.
It started off with an involuntary drench-fest on the way to my morning class. Thank goodness for non-slip sandals and a toilet stocked with paper towels. To hell with lousy, broken umbrellas. Despite being the lone ranger holding the fort, the situation was a moderate, more than manageable yellow, which was excellent.
A rush to Bugis Junction ensued after class & after I got carried away with talking to a friend for a good 30 minutes. Oopsss. Well, I wasn't THAT late, really. In time for lunch, although I only started eating when the rest had finished. Tried Pepper Lunch &... sorry, wasn't impressed. I don't think it's worth the money I pay. The time I spent there however, was more than worth it. In between deciding where to go and eating double scoops of calorific ice cream, it was simply awesomeee catching up with the OhGee & listening to the familiar rantings of a friend (:
Following that was a quick jaunt to the National Library where I managed to lay my hands on Arundhati Roy's God of Small Things, a book BF recommended a while back, along with a couple of other lovely books. Why oh why can't the National Library be nearer to my house. Sighs. The nearest library around doesn't have alot of books...
Digressed.
So anyway, took the train from Bugis to Aljunied, belatedly realising that there was probably a straight bus to my next destination. But whatever, n between fighting ants and using up almost an entire pack of fire-starters (girls, shrugs. Ha ha), last night's BBQ was quite possibly one of the best I've attended - stingrays with insane amounts of chilli (good, spicy chilli at that! :D), impossibly tasty chicken wings, absolutely heavenly home-made carrot cake elegantly topped off with cream cheese & icing sugar dressing and the best damn company around. How awesome is that?! :D
Life's totally worth enjoying.
